Well im no expert in this but after putting the 20's on my car it seams that 22 would fit on the rear but I think lowering the car so that it doesn’t look funny would be a problem. Just my opinion I think it would take a great deal of modification to the fenders and the lining inside the fenders to even get it to clear in the first place. After putting the 20"s on my car I can feel and see the ride height difference and could not even imagine what it would look like or feel like with 22"s lol. I would probably bet that if some one actually got them to fit they would run in to a problem when looking to lower the car. As for the front I think that like others have said that although with a lot of modifications to the fenders and the lining that it might fit but you probably wouldn’t be able to turn the wheel much before it hits something.

even IF they fit, it would still look like ****! i'm all for being as aggressive as possible, but when it comes to offset, not diameter. if they happen to fit on teh car, the damn thing would be higher off the ground than my jeep!
if you can see daylight under a car, it's too high.

GuyC what size tires are you running? There are a few 22" combinations that are lower in height than most 20" and 21" combinations.

almost all 20s are on 245/35 and 275/30 (or similar) setups. i only know a very few people running 245/30 and 275/25 (spec size). i don't know of ANYONE running spec larger than 245/35 and 275/30.

so pretty much no matter what size 22s you run, it's going to be larger than 20s

yeah most 20" setups on our cars are going to necessarily use the smallest height tire to begine with. there's no way a 22" tire will be smaller in overall diameter than the proper sized 20" tire.

Going larger in diameter isnt your thing, but doesnt mean it looks like ****. Personally I think people that have 18's and go with a super aggressive offset is funny. Everyone was telling me 21's was too big a few years ago then someone did it and everyone was drooling. Now I dont see why that cant happen with 22's

Everyone has thier own idea of ugly, ok, nice, cool, bling, and 'too much'. To me the stock wheels are ugly to o.k. and the optional wheels are nice. I've seen some 20's that are cool/bling (and a few ugly - bigger isn't always better). IMHO, 22's in the best of cases is either 'bling' (which I would not do, or 'too much' (which is my guess).

Personal taste is what really matters, if you like the look of 22's and they somehow fit and don't mess up ride quality too much, then knock yourself out. My guess is that some younger folks will think it's nice bling, and the majority of everyone else will think it's too much ('Ghetto' is what my CEO calls it).

What's funny to me is that 18's use to be considered somewhat big and now we're talking about 22's. My guess is that once someone sees 22's on, someone else is going ot have to go for 24's etc. When will it end? on an SC, I think it should have ended at 20 - but tha's just one old mans opinion.

the reason i think they look like **** is that they raise the car up so high off the ground. i don't really have a problem with the diameter. i dont know how it would look on a short car like the SC, but i guess that's just a matter of proportion.

i can care less what others think, i still think 21s look horrible on that sc430. there are people who think 20s on the sc430 are too big. everyone is different and that's their choice. i have my choice and sticking to it. and i know i will laugh bad when i see 22s on the sc430

Now that's just awful!!! I'm sure somebody thinks those gold rims on a green car 'set's it off' and I assume they will get additional gold accents to complete the look too.

I too wish it ended before it came to that. Guess it just goes to show how diverse taste are.

don't you guys like to have a bit of rubber on the road, or do you all prefer riding on your rims?

Even if you got 22" on whats it gonna ride like, might look nice parked up but thats it. I have got 22" on my Range Rover with 45 tires and I bent a rim last year. With rubber band tires you would be bending them non stop.
