Forbes magazine names SC430 in 10 worst selling cars of the year

But the article actually looks at the total number sold, it doesn't consider the number sold vs the number produced. If you look at the XLR that is in disasterous proportion, Caddy has 2 warehouses full of these things and they recently scaled back the line that produces them. I still can't believe they want $85k+ for a car that has plastic components VISIBLE????
However the annual report claims that the SC430 sells about 82% of the cars available. Granted they produce a lot fewer of these cars than anything else but they don't seem to have trouble selling them.

I think the fairest comparo to the SC is the CLK 430--if it had a hard top! We are a little outdated compared to it, but remember the CLK is on G3 for it now with 2008 going to that really squared off look. My buddy has a CLK 430 cabrio 2003 or so, and it is boring as hell to drive, is always in the shop and doesn't look nearly as nice as the SC with the top up. Bottom line--this is the closest competitor in price, not with the HD option and not with dependability and owner satisfaction. SC still wins. There are not other comparisons. The G37 hard top convertible should be interesting, but that is really for the 335ix. I may consider it when it comes out actually. I loved my 2005 G35 6speed coupe. Great bang for your buck, impeccable engine and a blast to drive. Different animal than a SC, though.
