Default Odd Noise when you Get in/out of car, put it in/out of gear

I've got case # 999,999 of the mysterious noises for you experts out there...

When I first sit in the car, or get out, or put the car into gear our out of gear, there is a little click or sharp pop almost like the struts or springs waking up since they have been sitting. Maybe I need to lose weight, ha ha! It's almost like the car is stiff???

I live in Texas, so my garage keeps her warm in between drives once a week, but we have replaced motor mounts, looked at the tranny (fine) shocks and struts were fine. They did replace the control arm last time, but what else could it be?

2002 with 25k on it. Motor mounts replaced recently under warranty, control arm, shocks/struts, tranny all checked out recently as well. Any thoughts?

You might be hearing the transmission claw that engages to prevent movement when parked on an incline. If you parked on a level area the claw would not have engaged until you slightly move the car when you enter. If so, perfectly normal.

Default Pop noise when entering

I have the same noise. Mostly when the car has sat for some time. Not the transmision. The car is on level ground with no tension on the park gear. If it is the brakes is there a problem?

Suspension bushings that dry out can make those squeaking noises, too, especially first ride of the day. You can grease 'em up and see if the noise disappears.

Level ground, no tension.
