does my sc430 have hw motion override?
I recently purchased a used 2002 sc430. I've been reading the posts learning about the sc430. I understand the motion override for the nav for pre-v6.1 sw. I also understand the hardware override for the speed sensor for the ECU. How do I know if my previous owneer modified the car? I can use the nav while in motion without using the motion override touch screen input. Does this mean it has to have the hw mod? Any insight is appreciated. I want to upgrade to a newer nav disk if you think this car has been hw modified.

FYI, you can still use the override trick even with 7.1 disc at least for gen2/3 system.
Without the override, you can still use some of the funtions.
The override means you can enter a new address while you are driving.
They have a navi hack kit for this in Japan, but no one here has tried it yet.

I can confirm that this works in an '02 SC as well -per my earlier post (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/5583908-post2.html). However, since that I've discovered that getting into the diagnostic screen has been somewhat hit-and-miss for me. I am not able to enter the diagnostic mode consistently even while using the same procedure with each attempt. Sometimes it works and I'm there instantly and other times it takes a lot of tries. In all other respects the system and particularly the touchscreen work normally. Has anyone else experienced this behavior with your Gen 2/3 system and the 9.1 nav update? Any thoughts about how to overcome?
