Question Audio Door & LCD Not Working

This morning my audio door was closed when I started the car, so I hit the button and opened it. Then I noticed that the LCD display was blank, but my radio, CD, etc worked ok. I just couldn't see anything on it. And when I hit the audio door button again, it wouldn't work.

I was thinking that maybe there was a common fuse, but I can't find one listed in the Owner's manual that controls these two things.

Garage door opener and all other electrics/electronics seem to be working ok. Anyone have any ideas? Is there a fuse that I missed?
Thanks!

I don't know if it is related, but check fuse #25 as well while you are at it. I remember my radio in my GS wouldn't work when the cigarette lighter fuse was blown by accident.

Thanks - I checked #24 and #47 after I first posted, but didn't look at #25. I'll check it and if that doesn't work "reboot" by disconnecting the battery.

Hmmmm... the #25 fuse was ok, and I disconnected and reconnected the battery (30 seconds off). Still doesn't work. I'm wondering if there's another fuse that not listed for both of these (?). Thanks for the suggestions though.

If none of them works, you can pm Lee to check what his OEM repair manual says.

The pdf repair manual I have doesn't show me any diagnosis for that issue.
The worse scenario will be getting an used unit on ebay, or you can pm lexusaudio to see if he can fix it for you.

Hmm, will have to look this one up. I replace two of these -be very careful of Ebay units as typically they do not work. Had two of them. I believe that there is a switch from the audio door that turns on the LCD when open. If I recall it is on top of the audio assembly as is triggered when the door opens/closes. Fixing it would mean to pull the unit out and inspect the top of the stereo assembly. Once out it should make sense but I do not have any pictures-or do I? Will check and get back

Thanks for digging this out for me. I've read thru it a couple of times, and I'm looking for some reference to the door switch that Lee mentions. Would a new audio door panel already come with a new switch?

I don't see a reference to the display connections being routed thru the switch, but I guess that's just part of the door connector (?).
As always, guys, Thanks!

Evidently I'm slower than you think. Exactly where is the switch? I'm guessing the door trips it? Thanks!

Only Lee can answer you that question.
I have no idea since I only removed the radio once to get the power for EDFC a while ago.

You probably need to buy the whole thing even you find out which specific part is broken.
It is like that nav computer. I know only that laser head is going bad.

But who knows? Maybe you can fix this one.

If memory serves there is a little white microswitch on the top that triggers the screen. Again, I may be mistaking that for another switch on the car-but trying to think of how many micro switches there are that I have come across. I will have to try to pull up some of my old pics and look. If not maybe I will just pop mine out to look real quick over the weekend.

Default Broken Limit Switch

No more mystery about the problem with the Audio Door and Audio LCD Backlight.

The Audio Door motor is located on the top of the Radio Receiver Assembly. There is a Limit Switch (single pole/double throw, surface mount) in the door motor plastic housing. It's broken. If I can find one (IF), it probably costs $.65. So I had the guy who disassembled the radio (all of it) just put the door assembly back on the radio receiver and reinstall the complete assembly leaving the door in the "up" position. We didn't reattached the power/sensor cable to the door motor, so the LCD backlight works ok again.

This pic shows the location of the door motor where the limit switch is located.
