Hey, guys I am thinking of updating my navigation disk from 3.1 to the 6.1. Well I have generation 3 model. my question Is if there is any difference like how it looks??? like the map, icons and stuff do they look the same as 2.1 or 3.1 because the last time I did the update from 2.1 to 3.1 there was not much of a difference... Icons and everything looked the same. If any you guys have already done the update please post picture on how the new one looks... Or know the answer to the question please help me out.

Hey, guy! The stuff like icons and stuff will like look the same, Only like newer.
The update does not update the OS in any substantial respect, nor will it make your gen 3 model a gen 4 model. The update only updates the data. Also, I believe that gen 4 systems use a screen with a higher resolution, which allows them to display more complex graphics, which is why the screens on newer cars often have a different and more detailed look. With the latest update, however, you will have much more reliable information about roads and POIs.
For an interesting look at the only two companies in the world that compile and supply the map data to all navigation systems, see the article about NavTeq in one of the issues of the Wall Street Journal from last week.
