Are there any significant differences between coilovers made for the 2nd Gen GS and those made for the SC430? I remember a thread a while ago about being able to use GS coilovers on the SC430? Thanks

I might be wrong but I DONT think the can be used. The 2 cars weigh different and the suspension must be tuned for the 2 cars differently. One is a sedan and 1 is a drop top coupe they might bolt on but will have 2 very different spring rates and shock compression

I think you might be confusing the 2nd generation of Tein CS coilovers, which are now called CST.

technically they will fit, but coz' of the weight difference, etc... the car probably won't drive right
genearch (previous member) had the tein flex from gs on the sc430 for a long while, and he never felt right about the car until he switched to the tein cs for the sc430

For me i think its great. The ride is very smooth and corners very nicely. The install is a direct swap.
I was wondering if the spring rates would be an issue, but since I'm not a race car driver and cruise more than speed, they work well for me.

Correct me if I am wrong but could you then use Tein Flex for a 2G GS? And if so, possibly use Tein springs for a SC to compensate for the incorrect spring rate?
That is, if the springs mount on the shock the same way. Just a theory.
