Mine is a 2002 with close to 97000 miles. Never gave me any problems except the Run Flats being too loud and noisy. Also the Headlight sensor went out. Luckily we have a very reputable Lexus Shop CLEAR CHOICE LEXUS here in Houston. The 90k service was $970 including every thing compare to Lexus dealer its a $1000 Difference.

Purchased a Red/Ecru '02 3 months ago with 15K miles. Changed the struts in the trunk ($65 e-bay). Had a key made for $275 at Lexus. Nothing else to fix. It's flawless.
Just found out last week from a co-worker with a Toyota about the timing belt at 6 yrs. Will probably roll the dice for another year since the mileage is ultra low.

tfeni52355 Curious how much you negotiated your 2002 SC price? The one I am looking at has 21k miles and 1 owner.
They are asking 26900.00 and its a nice Almond color.

keeper15 - I paid $30K here in Charlotte. Local Lexus dealer had some with 40-50K miles for around $35K so I thought it was a fair deal. I wasn't shopping for an SC430 at the time. Actually I was looking at Sky's, Mustang GT's etc. since I didn't think I could get into an SC for a reasonable price.
When the SC became available I just gave the guy his asking price since I thought it was a good deal and the car was so well taken care of. He had the car sold if I didn't take it so I didn't have much time to negotiate either. I might have done better but wanted the car for my wife's Xmas present and it was December..... No regrets. It's a true classic!

Well as luck would have it I found a 2004 and the owner wanted 29900.00.
it has some parking scrapes that totaled 700.00 to repair. he settled on takinga c5 Corvette I had and 13000.00 cash. total for the deal is 30000.00 with tax.
It gives me a lower payment and it does have drive train warranty till 75000 miles, it has 57000 right now. Indigo Blue was hard to decide, but i am warming up too it! deal should go thru today....

I have new Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S on the SC. They came with it. They flat spot when they sit in the cold. They're noisy until they warm up and then they stick like glue and become quiet! Wouldn't buy them again if there is something quieter that can give the same performance.
