Default Price Advice

Hello all, I'm new here. I may be getting an 05 SC430 at $38K with 24 000 miles and a Lexus CPO 3 yr 100 000 mile warranty. Wonder whether this is a fair price ?

Yes, I'd qualify that as a good price. Not crazy but certainly better than average.

I've watched the sc's over the past three months, and that is toward the lower end of the price scale for a 2005, and with it having low miles and a extended warranty.

I bought a 2005 with 10,000 on it two weeks ago and paid $43500. I traded two cars on this one and I was given at least top trade in allowance for both cars. Every deal is different. Some dealers list their cars high so they can allow more for the trade in. Psycologically that seems to make people happy. If you study eBay and especially the "completed sales" that will give you the best information I think personally. You can see what actually sold and for what. I had two pretty nice trades and I spent $6000 additional out the door (but I also will need tires so its more like $7000 out the door). If the car suits you then it seems like a good deal to me. My car is the dark blue and white interior. My favorite color combo and the car is as close to new as I think a person would ever find. I could have likely shopped for a little better price but how long would it have taken to locate a car. Time is money and when you "have to have it" you pay more. Well, I guess I had to have it. I should have worked them on the tires but the bottom line is that I am happy with the car and satisfied with the price. But comparing your deal to mine and assuming the only difference is the extra 15,000 miles seems at least good to me. If the car is mint then its a real good deal in my opinion. JEH

Thanks guys. Did the deal - the car was in good shape (only a couple of small nicks externally and no curb rash, no dings) and had 4 new tires - run flats unfortunately but whatever - I guess that was about $1200 in value that I did not count on. Color was pretty - twilight amethyst pearl. The 3 yr warranty helps a little. Guess I'll be coming around to this site a little more often now as I split my time between the Acura RL site and this one. I'll post pics if I eventially figure out how to do it on this site.
