New "05" owner with runflat question...
I just got a 2005 SC 430 w/new Dunlop Runflat tires. With all the hype given to extended warrantee deals I am trying to find out how many miles people have averaged on a new set of tires.
I appreciate your time,

I got 25k miles from my original Dunlop 5000 DSST runflats and I mean they were almost bald in the middle and the wires on the sidewall were protruding outwards.
Don't make the same mistake as I did and wait too long to change them out.
Even for a stock stance, these almost worn down tires made the vehicle more unstable and I could feel a little shake and rattle during sharp cornering and turns. don't get me wrong, the factory runflat tires are of hi-perf tires and allow you to enjoy them as much as you can. But for those aggressive drivers who like to push their car a little more, these tires won't last very long.
Oh, BTW, I found out that runflats cost more than non-runflats back then while shopping for tires.
And the pricing today still remains high for those runflat tires compared to the non-runflats. Unbelievable!
At the time, I was deciding on whether or not to continue w/ the runflat theme and get a new set, but after reading this forum, non-runflats were the way to go, price-wise as well as stability of the vehicle.
+2 for non-runflats (provides stability and comfort)
-2 for runflats (pricier and dont' last very long)
thanks...teeman3

12K fronts 20K rears on normal Dunlop 2030.
The front geometry seems to be set up for excessive understeer when cornering fast and scrubs the insides of the tyres far to quickly imo. My old Supra and celica used to do this as well...
Got 24K out of the fronts on my 350Z on the same roads, but only 12K on the rears!
