Re-designed SC, when?
#32
one time cruising by the beach i had three of my friend sitting on the back headrest with feet on the back seets but other than that position i dought anyone else would be able to fit. i think its for insurance purposes only, without it would be a "roadster", like this its a coupe. can you imagine i only pay 1006 dollars every six months!!

I would love to see the current SC adopt the 4.6 V8 for the last 1-2 years in its current body style. I agree that the IS conv. will not be intended to replace the SC...way too down market for the vehicle/buyers. I would love to see a redesign as well, but I have not been liking the "L-finess" they have been doing to EVERY vehicle in their line-up. Interior and exteriors all look the same now.

I think lex will have a hard time replacing the SC. Peole think the IS is too low end and the LF-A too high end. Other's also say they want a new re-designed SC and many like the SC because it's so unique. To keep in the same level of car and not taking the design leads from the other parts of the lex line-up will cost them a heck of a lot of money in research, design, engineering and marketing etc.
Personally I'd like the SC body to stay more or less the same but add the new engine (e.g. 460+) and the other tech updates such as nav screen, ventilated seats, smart key etc. However my guess is that the IS will be the replacement (it's more practical with a real back seat). It would likely be an 'upscale' IS with a bigger engine - maybe V8 from the LS. With 'special' colors or options exclusive to this 'super IS' with more refinements than the IS-F, they may be able to pull of giving people something that's considered up-scale from the IS and still 'special'. They may or may not badge it as an SC, but I highly doubt that we'll see anything totally new for whatever the next gen SC/SC replacement will bring.

I wish there will be NO upgraded engine in the CURRENT bodystyle. I wish it will be DISCONTINUED with no replacement. I don't care about resale value. I bought this car to enjoy, mod and the LAST thing on my mind is what I am going to get when I sell it. I bought this car to DRIVE, not garaged kept, not put 5k a year only, but hey its only my opinion which means nothing. I bought this car to be exclusive and when properly modded, you can be exclusive and turn more heads IMO more than ANY current production Lexus car out now WHEN modded up complete and proper.
