Default 3SC news

Well there is none..sources say its on another SC 10 year plan. Again, they are happy with the design (like the 1st gen) so they don't want to touch it too much.

As stated, the IS coupe/convert/targa is coming in 2009.....thus the SC will move even more upmarket. It will continue to be a convertible hardtop.

Otherwise, no news Of course when it does debut expect every single gadget in the book...

Sounds good to me.
Everyone, try to keep the posts civil on this topic please as inevitably these type of post brings in those that would not ordinarily come here just to start bashing and we do not need this to go in the same direction as the rest of the threads.

I just hope the 2009/10 SC460 or SC500 which ever engine they use for it. Hopefully it actually fits 4 people this time, so it can compete against the CL.

Honestly the SC430 the leg room in the back horrible. It's worst then a 2+2 DB9 or Continental GTC or Porsche 997 Carrera.

If its atleast the length of the LS460 or even the LS460 L now that be a great convertible. Plus hopefully this time we will be able to have the roof down and have stuff in the truck imo.

2 years and counting.

Oh yah 10 years between models is insane, I find 6 years long. 10 years is W O W. It should be atleast 5-6 years for ever Lexus model, but thats just me.

perfect. I was afraid that the rumors of a sooner re-design would make my '03 ancient, but now I have good reason to make a toast.

Cause that'll give me plenty of time to pay-off this sucker by '08.

how sweet it is.....I just absolutely LOVE this design and especially seeing so many newcomers lately and checking out their SC430 rides locally and everywhere else on this forum, it gives me goosebumps every time.

I doubt that SC430 will stay.

If Lexus makes an IS350 hardtop convertible (and let's say it starts at about $42k), it will be less expensive, more powerful, more gas efficient, more roomy, more modern, more technologically advanced, and more sporty than the SC430. Who would want to buy the SC?

The SC430 is nice, but now obsolete...

We need a new SC soon!!!

The 1st gen SC got away with an 8 year run because its looks was way ahead of its time. When the 2nd gen SC was introduced, i've always thought it was only 2-3 years ahead of its time Either the SC needs to be beefed up or get some kind of update. Even then, it shouldn't be stretched to no more than 7 years.

Well I am sure Lexus management and engineers are stretched to the limit. With sales growing worldwide and more new models than ever, you simply have to prioritze. Look at all the Lexus firsts or growth.
1st diesel in Europe
IS series, no longer 1 car
GS series + hybrid
LS series (L) = hybrid
RX updates +hybrid
LX is all new
LF-A testing
IS-F is coming
ES 350 debut

The SC is a low volume car, so its not like Lexus is missing any sales.

personally, while lexus is being so quiet, i am pretty confident that a new coupe is pretty much ready and to me 2009 sounds like a good time. maybe end of next year we will see the car already

For a hardtop convertible, I think an early 2009 model launched in the spring is better timing . . . at least I hope so

Dear People of the world, not to long ago, i posted about the new retrac. hardtop supra being released. With the LF-A costing $200k, according to road and track mag., the SC will be discontinued just like the Honda prelude. My 2cents.

No Lexus has ever been discontinued, the SC will continue. It is a halo inducing car for Lexus and has done some terrific things for the brand.

Isn't the LF-A going to become the halo car for Lexus?

The whenever it comes new SC definitely needs more interior room Not in the back, it's a sport coupe/tourer...who cares about rear space. It needs enough room in the front for big people to be comfortable. Lexus is missing thousands of sales. A large part of America is over weight. How can you not make cars to accomodate us. This includes pro and former collegiate/HS athletes who may not be obese, just big. We need space. Despite my feelings about the design, I would be in one now if there were more space up front.

it just doesn't make sense for the sc to be discontinued imho
