Nav system upgrade.
I am taking delivery of my 03 430 (white with TRD wheels) 6 k miles on it tomorrow. Is there a nav system upgrade (I guess dvd) available and if so does anyone know how much is it? Does anyone know what the upgrade does? Is is worth the money?

2002 Nav upgrade
I need upgrade bad. I pulled the DVD out and it says DATA 2000 ver.1. I'm pretty sure my Nav is ver 2/3? Would this be correct for a 2002 model SC430? If not, where do you get the ver #. Thanks!!

An 02' is going to have a very outdated map system. It was created in late 2000 or early 2001. My 03 came with the same disc you have and there are a lot of developments and new shopping malls that are just not on the map.

Personally I wouldn't pay over $30 for a non factory copy.
I've come to find out that a lot of the reproduced DVD's don't work, and you will not get your money back. So $30 is worth the gamble...(IMO)

I had my 02 NAV upgrades last year................not that much in the Atlanta area had changed........it still cannot find some areas that have been created in 2005,
Lexus charged me $250.00 for the upgrade............are they supposed to give you the CD you paid for or is it just a master keeper for them?

Lexus just replaced the one that came with your vehicle. You still have it. It's in your trunk. The old one they most likely tossed it.
I found there isn't that many visual changes with the upgrade. You should find it has more in depth maps for new additions and shopping places etc. Other than that..whether it's worth it or not? It was for me just knowing I had the latest and that's the best it gets.. (:
I don't think I would want to use a repro in mine. It's a lexus... That's like putting a Kmart type radio system in your vehicle...would you do that?

2 things:
1) DON'T buy a repro. I did, and it didn't work. The person I bought it from was kind enough (?) to return my $55.00. Then I bought another one from a supposed trusted source; it was the same as my stock '02 disc (was supposed to be the '07 upgrade version). That person was NOT kind enough to return my $99.00.
2) I live in Chicago, and the only differences I can see between the '02 and '07 discs are a couple of worthless Points of Interest and a subdivision that was built two years ago now shows up with a couple of streets instead of what was a large green waste-area on my nav screen. Other than that, it's the same.
Maybe your geographic area will have more stuff showing up....
Good Luck!!

Need some help here.
Thinking about a new NAV DVD for my Gen2, I found 3 different versions of them and would like to know which one is the correct one.
PT219-GN23W-11 west
PT219-GN23E-11 east
PT219-GN23X-11
I live in Texas and I would think the "west" version will be the right choice, but the last "X" version is of an unknown. Anybody have an answer for it?
TIA.

I have 2007 SC430. I just purchased 2011 version from Lexus Parts World.
http://www.lexuspartsworld.com/Scrip...idCategory=107
Costs 150.00 with free shipping. It just pops right in to the CD slot from
trunk. System updated it self after selecting Region on the map.
