Theres probs more old British cars across the pond then here. Very rare sight here should imagine they all rot in the British rain. Every other car is a BMW or Toyota and the rest are cheap Korean things.

I'm pretty sure the antenna extends fully when on AM and decends about a 1/3rd when on FM.
Is there any difference when the antenna is down all the way vs up all the way? I was wondering if the cable to antenna or radio was either loose or disconnected by previous owner..``
Otherwise is it consistantly weak or does it momentarily go strong to weak signal?
Another thought would be ......does your cds play ok? Could be speaker(s) problems.

It does sound like there may be something loose in your antenna from what you described. You might want to do a search. I have read where the antenna was changed out. More recent thread put no pictures yet is this one: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=341815
Maybe someone else can chime in on the antenna (aerial per Aquanuke (- trunk access. It shouldn't be that difficult to access from the trunk to take a look at the connection.
