Default Replaced 2 rear Tires and VSC is Activating!!!

Well found my alignment way off, I got that fixed. my tire guy replaced 2 rear tires...I wanted 4 new but miscommunication and he will order 2 more for tomorrow. Sumitomo HTR+...

Well on ride home I felt the traction control activating on my rear tires and the light on the dash came on. Will this go away when the 4 correct tires are installed? I know the size difference must have something to do with it...
I went out for another test drive!!! Now it seems fine...no lights no activation of VSC...Alert:Just installed final 2 tires, installer says it may have been film on the new tires! More road test!!

Perhaps the tires were wet or had some cleaning solution still on there as some tire installed use a detergent to allow for easier mounting of the tire.
2 tires or 4 tires makes little difference as the system activates once it senses slip in the rear tires.

My biggest caveat with all Lexus's is the oversensitivity of the traction control/VSC system. Either you turn it completely off or deal with it's fun zapping mannerism and potential dangerous pitfalls.

I can find no problem, so ...I think I will still change the front RFT with the same Sumitomo's in the back...opps

Update:Its back, drove today and light came on during brisk driving around a curve.
I noticed a lockup or traction control activate for a split second..not a good feeling. I wonder if when tires where replaced if they were installed on opposite sides would that cause this?

Did you ever find a solution to the issue? Just curious. Thanks.

I have done the battery reset, removed positive terminal and after 10 minutes reconnected and warning lights went away! I have had normal operation for about 2 months so I feel it must have been a gremlin! I also had a hard pot-hole incident so maybe that triggered the wheel sensor to give false indication to VSC!

Crazy! I can't believe you had to go thru that, cause possibly a pothole. Glad it worked out though.

While I got your attention, how do you like the Sumitomo's?

The battery terminal thing is an easy fix to many electrical glitches! Re-booting has helped and saves some serious mula when unscrupious dealerships have there way with us little people!

The sumitomo's are great tires for the price, I had them on my C5 Vette and on the SC they have been great too! I found them for about 100 a piece and thats a good value! I have lots of winding roads and wet pavement on the coast and they perform excellant.
