Here's a tip I just learned when I had a flat tire.
Down with the jack is a HUGE empty storage space, used in Europe for the spare tire. I carry a ComfortKit, a "Jump and Carry" spare battery, along with various tools at all times. They fit down there great and are now out of the regular trunk area.
Granted anyone who's had a flat knows this, but for those who have never looked under the trunk floor............

Great find! I was able to reproduce this on both my SC and GX while in motion. It requires a few extra pushes afterwards (you have to get back to the I Agree screen and confirm before doing any navigation), and you have to be much more careful in your UL, LL, UL, LL, LR touches to miss the "English" and "I Agree" button, but it does indeed work on my Gen2/3 nav systems. Thanks!

Touch the extreme positions - the very absolute corners (in particular, missing the "English" and "I Agree" buttons). In motion, I typically have to brace my hand against the surrounding area to get it right. On both of my cars it jumps to the that same screen you access from the DVD button.

I just played with the "Maintenance Hack" for the first time today. It seems that the 2006 model accesses the hack through the volume control screen, so getting back to the initial "I agree" screen isn't important. I'll have to see whether I can do this while moving.
ADDENDUM: Yep, works just fine while moving. Easily done on the 2006 model through the volume screen.

Why you'd want to do that rather than punch the number into your phone, I don't know, but maybe your phone is in the trunk for some reason.

Today I learned something new. I was opening the top and I guess I didnt pay attention to the "ding" sound that says its open and the side windows rolled back up. I knew they would roll up if you held close but not if you help open.

OK, so this thread gpt kinda highjacked, but here's something I discovered by accident.
On a multi-segment trip, the nav indicates the time/distance to the next destination. But if you touch that on the screen, it will then splay out and show you the time/destination to EACH stop cumulatively.
On a multi-segment trip, the nav indicates the time/distance to the next destination. But if you touch that on the screen, it will then splay out and show you the time/destination to EACH stop cumulatively.
1. Once the time/distance to each stop is splayed out, you can touch any one of them and when it colapses, only that destination is shown in the time/distance on the left.
Why is that a great feature? Sometime I input way points solely so the Nav lady will use a certain route. I don't really want to see time/distance to those points, but rather my ending point. With this little trick, that's exactly what's displayed.
2. The distance appears to be distance from your current position, not distance given all the way points.

Johnnycake...this is great to know. Last week I drove from Va to Charlestown, SC and had the same issue. My display was always the distance to the next stop, but what I wanted was total distance. Like you, I input destinations to force the route to use the roads I want, which sometimes are not on the three routes calculated. Thanks!
