Default brake clunk specific question.

The annoying clunk that many of us have... emitting from the brakes.

Question. Sometimes on harder braking pre-turn, I can get it to click and clunk. I can also get it to happen when stopped in traffic, and when I depress the brake harder. Is this also normal and what you guys are experiencing? I brought it into the dealer and they were quick to say it was normal and blamed it on the "two piece braking system".

Did the dealer actually rack and inspect or just provide you with the explanation?
Generally the car as most cars with 2 piece calipers clunk when the pad shifts from reverse/forward or vice versa but not while braking hard.

He stated he inspected the suspension, and everything looked fine. Said the clunk from brakes is normal per all SC's.

I guess I am going back to complain... again. Thanks.

I may be within normal parameters but can be fixed as posted in the primary brake clunk thread. Problem is many dealers will not take the time to correct this and it will come back down the line. I am getting a little clunk now so when I adjust my camber this weekend I'm going to tighten up the clips for the pads. It's been several thousand miles for me since the brake job.

I am gonna take a look at that thread again, and see if its something me (not all that car hands on experienced) can do. Thanks.

Sad that the dealer is so uncooperative and quick to dismiss any issue.

Very simple, some pads are made differently than others and fit tighter and/or they just adjusted out the clips to place more tension on the pad itself keep it place. Easy fix and could even happen unintentionally.
