Lights stay on even if car is off
So yesterday when i locked my car, i noticed that the screen which displays the mpg, clock etc stayed on. I questioned it, thinking that it may go off and thus walked away...now that was stupid as this morning when i was planning on heading out, the car wont turn on.
So here is my dilemma: when i turn the car on that screen light turns off, however, when the car is off the light turns on. This is also happening on the ML sound system screen.
Is this a common problem with a common fix. Does anyone have any recommendations...im clueless to how to fix this and do not want to take the car in to a dealer.
Also, if anyone has the instructions on how to properly take out the ML headunit and whats around it, that would be very helpful.
thanks in advance.

I don't know if this will work. I think it is a long shot however if it were me the first thing I would do is disconnect the battery (kinda like rebooting the system) and leave it disconnected for a little while. When you reconnect the battery it might work properly. I would talk to my dealer first to get there recommendations before disconnecting anything. It seams like its working in reverse. Turning on when the key is out and turning off when the key is in.

no luxlink..honestly i have no clue what happened. After turning the car on and off about 10 times all problems went away. I think the ecu reset it self. At one point when i opened the nav screen the radio turned off and then when i closed the nav the radio turned on. All the electronics were just haywire. I think the on board computer was on the fritz...since then then car has been fine. we will see the next time.
Thanks for the help.
