i have a 2002 sc430 with both the original ver 1 and a 2.1 DVD for the navigation system. both discs are recognized by the car but i cannot get past the "I agree" on the start up caution page. i can hit the English or French button and it changes but no response when i hit the "I agree" button. any ideas?

has it ever worked for you? if you bought it used and bought the dvds, the previous owner may have updated it with a more recent version. if that's the case your dvds won't work. you'll have to buy one at least as new as the one they updated it with.

Once you put in the 2.1 DVD, a new OS is installed, and it will not read ver 1 any more. Many of the versions are like this; you cannot go back and use a previous version of the data disc. Perhaps this is what is going on. If your system, however, is not reading the ver 2 data, and it is an original DVD, the only thing I can think of is that the system is goofy or perhaps the DVD is scratched or dirty. Try cleaning it in the appropriate manner with a microfiber cloth and good luck.

worked briefly today. then the right side of the touchscreen was no longer responsive. if this is the issue then it would prevent me from hitting the I agree button. was able to zoom in and out on the map but then only in as the "-" button no longer worked. also found on other menus that only the left half of the touchscreen was working. anyone know how this thing is designed. i think it would just be a serial connection for the whole touchscreen not two separate ones which would eliminate the wiring or connection as a probable cause. of course, that leaves a flaky display which would be expensive to say the least. ideas?
