Default Population

Well about 2 months after i got my sc ive been noticing about a 40% increase of sc population in these 4 months against these past 2 years.. and im in socal..

I was just wondering if anyone new why it could be like this, dispite the fact that is 1 of the best cars.(imo)

IMO it is due to their recent affordability. Where else can you get so much for under 20k?

Even if the car is "cheaper", that doesn't really explain why there are more of them on the road since the same amount of cars should still exist.

I think it has more to do with recognition and increased awareness than anything (once you like/own a certain car, you just then to spot them more easily).

Actually it does. Many purchased this car as a second vehicle-a weekend car so to speak which explains why many are low mileage compared to say a GS or LS. Sure is not my primary car and never was as it is not practical enough to be one for my lifestyle.
Many here were in that boat.

Nowadays people can purchase it but use it as a daily driver. A Lexus convertible for under 20k. One recently sold for 16k in decent condition. Not great, decent.

Also you can expect to see a lot of beat up SCs as well because when these premium cars get to this level there are many that can purchase them but cannot take care of them. We will also see more and more creative mods to these cars in the coming months.
Take a look at the LS, GS, etc....

But to add, I have not noticed any huge spike in sightings out there in So Ca. The usual 1 or 2 a day in LA traffic.

pearlpower hit it. and it also depends on where you are

say you are in newport beach and surrounding areas? i don't think you will see "significant" jump in population, those people are so rich they drive sc430 daily anyway. but in some other more normal areas, now you see more and more sc430

me myself i don't notice any increase in population, still see them every day everywhere

i also agree with pearlpower but im not talking about just 02-05 bodies but also 06-08. just today while i was sitting at the car wash, in that 30 minutes or so i saw at least 2 06 bodies and about 4 02-05 on laurel cnyn blvd wich is not the busiest street in the valley.

well wouldnt matter to me anymore cuz i am now selling the car
