I just bought a new 2006 Lexus IS 350's spare wheel and tire thrugh Ebay $100 ( plus $20 shipping). Tire size 145/70/17 , bolt pattern 5-114.3 ( matching with SC430 ) but I am not sure if it fits or not , a local tire expert told me that i can use any kind of spare wheel and tire if it has the same bolt pattern and tire size , let you know when it coming

Has anyone in the Dallas / Ft Worth area gotten one of these RX8 spare tires? Before I buy one, I'd like to see if it would clear my front calipers and rotors.
Thanks, Cecil

Finally , I got spare tire Lexus IS 350 came in yesterday , It fits in trunk ,I tried to put it in front and back wheel , perfect matching of bolt pattern and off set , rim is clear about 1 1/2 thickness of my thumb from front brake , only 1 small different thing is tire size T145/70D/17 (Lexus SC430 T145/70R/17) of course Radial or Diagal is just the plies construction , in other way D is better than R because it is designed for truck spare tire . I think this one must be better than RX8 because at less it made from Lexus , same size and offset , you can find it in Lexus dismantle shop. it was equiped for every IS300, IS350 ( $80-$120 each for used one)

Anyone know if the 16" spare from a 1993 SC400 will fit our SC430s? Offset is listed as 7J. Thx

Hey, Does the Mazda spare, Lexus SC spare and Supra TT have the same width? I have the Supra TT spare in my trunk and I think it is messing up my trunk release button. Do I just need to mod the trunk? Does anyone have the same problem?

My RX8 spare fits perfect and does not interfere with the release.

I believe 2004 and newer. Here is a new Ebay link.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...QQcmdZViewItem

A lot cheaper than what you would pay for the Lexus spare kit!

Thank you Farkas

This was a great write up, I found a person in my area that had a brand new one for 250.00 and it was 5 min to just take a jigsaw to cut out the tire area on the cover that was already there. It all dropped in perfectly and doesn't take up as much space as I thought. Its a perfect solution I appreciate you sharing this info, with this DYI I got the spare and a whole new set of rubber for about what the dealer was going to charge me for just the Lexus spare!

I have the TT spare in my 2002 SC430, it only fits with the open side facing to the rear and I store emergency stuff in there. No problem with the trunk release.
