auto headlight not working

Default auto headlight not working

if i put the headlight switch in the auto position they never come on. ideas?

They will only come on when its dark enough for lights,,, i

yeah well it is pretty dark at 2:00 am. i imagine the sensor is bad but where is it located?

That's funny!

I'm about 90% sure it's the little "nub" at the very bottom of the windshield on the passenger side (on the dash where the defrost vents are). It's a dome-shaped doo-dad about 3/4" in diameter. The owner's manual says not to cover this up.

i figured that was for the climate control sun detection. i guess it could be for both.

You're correct; that's the headlight sensor.

Don't know if you ever got this straightened out or not but, if you haven't, I'm curious if, along with the headlights not coming on at 2am, does the Navigation system switch from "day" to "night" mode automatically?

If this works (they use the same light sensor) but, the headlights don't, you may have a problem with something other than the sensor itself.
