I always thought it was my sway bar but, the other day I put the top up and it went away. The top back down in the trunk and the squeaking noise came back. This only seems to happen when the weather starts to get cooler/damper.
I put some dry silicone on the rubber roof supports in the trunk and the noise went away. Only for a day...
Anyone else have this happen to them? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mark (da-bizket)

I believe all cars squeak after a while. It's from all the flexing the car does when driving, going up and down drive ways, ect... My girlfriend has a new MBZ has about 10K Miles on it and the frame squeaks when going up a drive way at an angle. It's not loud but you can definitely hear it. My Ford on the other note sounds like a Rocking Chair when i go up or down a driveway at an angle.
It's normal...
If it didn't squeak then your car would be stiff as a board probably ride like one too!!!

I have had the front strut tower brace for a while now. It does help some with the flex but, this does not seem to be a flexing problem. The top is just squeaking going over small bumps (on a flat surface) when it's in the trunk.
If it was a normal condition I think more people would be responding. I will try replacing the rubber supports, since the silicone spray stopped the noise in the short term.
Thanks,
