Default Moonroof?

I'm looking for an SC430 and my wife swears that one is available with a moonroof.

Does anyone know anything about a moonroof or sunroof availability?

Thanks,
Jack

'01-present SC430's only available in a hardtop convertible.

Your wife needs to quit swearing. Of all the hardtop convertibles, I am unaware of any that come with a (totally unnecessary) sunroof. No SC430 has one. I did have an SC400 with a sunroof, but of course, that car was not a convertible (which was the main reason I switched). Your next move is to make a big time bet, then a trip to the dealer for an expert opinion.

The Volkswagon EOS has a sunroof integrated into the convertible hardtop. However, a) it's a Volkswagon and b) there have been several reports of the roof leaking, badly.

From this article on Wikipedia - "The Eos differs from the typical retractable hardtop in that its five-piece folding roof includes an integrated and independently sliding glass sunroof — making the Eos the only retractable hardtop of its kind."

Just wanted to get some feedback from you experts. A friend here has one too and he's a car nut. He says he's never heard of or seen one either. Part of my problem is that she found this on the web. The guy says he has a 2007 Pebble Beach edition with a "panoramic moon roof"

http://www.buysell.com/root/detail/C...H_EDITION.aspx

Now, I don't see it in the pictures, but she figures if it's on that SC430, it's probably on others too.

Here's how the seller describes the car:

2007 LEXUS SC 430 PEBBLE BEACH EDITION, 6500kms, 2dr, Automatic, RWD, Gas, Alarm, AM/FM Stereo, Air Conditioning, Alloy Wheels, Anti-Lock Brakes, Anti-Theft, Anti-Starter, CD Player, Cassette, Driver Air Bag, Dual Air Bag, Fog Lights, Intermittent Wipers, Keyless Entry, Navigation System, Power Brakes, Power Mirrors, Power Seat, Power Steering, Power Windows, Rear Defroster, Side Impact Air Bag, Tilt Steering, Tinted Glass, Bucket Seats, Heated Seats, Leather Interior, Lift Out Roof, Power Locks, Spoiler, Traction Control, Cruise Control, All Equipped, Heated Mirrors, Power Trunk, Removeable-Roof, Tilt Wheel, CD Changer, Rain Sensor Wipers, Backup Sensor, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Dual Climate Controls, Xenon Headlights, Memory Seats, Bluetooth, Passenger Air Bag, Satellite Radio, Panoramic Sunroof, Telescoping Steering Wheel, Premium Audio, Reverse Park Assist/ Parking Sensors, Stability Control, Ventilated Seats

Because the issue is that your wife will believe this listing regardless of how many owners tell her otherwise, the solution is to send an email to the person selling the car asking for clarification. He will probably explain that when he writes that the car has: a Panoramic Sunroof / Removeable-Roof / Lift Out Roof he is simply using a variety of terms to describe the standard hardtop convertible.

Short of the clarification coming directly from the seller you will be chasing your tail trying to verify the non-availability of an SC430 sunroof.

Good luck.

The guy that listed it probably checked the "panoramic moon roof" box in the options area as it was the closed to "convertible" that they had -- convertible isn't an option, it is part of the make/model for this and most every car.

Just tell her its got one and go ahead and buy one.
When she asks where it is, push the "open" button on the dash.
Hopefully, she won't cuss you out.....

The car doesn't have a "panoramic sunroof", as listed in the ad. The ad also states that the car has "Satellite Radio", "Park Assist/Parking Sensors" and "Ventilated seats"...none of which are an option on the SC430...for any year...for any trim level. He also lists "Rain-sensing wipers"...which the car doesn't have (it does have "speed-sensitive wipers", which is a nice feature but not the same thing). The ad is just plain wrong.
