Default Another New Owner!

Finally! After five months of research, searching, and bargaining, I have found, purchased, and love my new (new to me, it's a 2002) silver/black SC430! I would just like to thank everyone on this forum for making the decision easier and for providing a lot of great advice. I'll definitely be checking the threads with a different perspective now! I'll also try to post pics asap.

Thanks!
Andrew

The first things I am considering doing is debadging the rear and installing Sirius in the ashtray. I think I've read the threads on those items enough to be successful, but we'll see how they go. My car did not come with an owner's manual, but I found an online .PDF version of a 2004 manual online. That should do until I can find one on ebay or craigslist.

Congratulations on your purchase. Good choice.

Your first step needs to be to post up some pics!!

If, for no other reason, we'll need some "before" shorts for comparison once you start modding it!

I did the Sirius-in-the-ashtray thing; works out nice. Easy to access it and you can close the door to hide it. Would be nice if getting the steering wheel controls to work but, there isn't so, oh well. It's not like you need to change the channel when a commercial comes on!!

If you register online with lexus.com they will send you a complementary Owners Manual.

I did it and mine arrived within two weeks

Habious, I agree - I am at work right now (which is killing me, knowing the car is just sitting outside waiting for me!)...Also, my little $50 sirius radio has a remote, so I can keep that in the center console and use it to change things if it's too tight in the ashtray...

Tommy, Thanks! I will for sure do that when I have the VIN in front of me!

initial image - you can see the sirius antenna in the middle there. i took the ashtray out, but was not industrious enough to figure out how i could remove the ashtray/lighter part to make room for the radio, so my solution involves velcro tape and i'm pretty happy with it. debadging will happen this weekend i guess...more pics to come...

Thanks for the pic help Habious!
Lexiss_sc430: I registered at Lexus.com and they are sending me a new owner's manual - I am reading the online PDF version in the meantime also. I'm going to take some pictures of where I ended up with the Sirius too - I'll use something other than flickr to host I guess (does photobucket do ok?)...

Flickr works, just make sure you link directly to the picture instead of the page that displays the picture.

You used this as the link - "http://www.flickr.com/photos/pieceofschmidt/2736389031/"

I used this as the link - "http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3272/2736389031_94840e9ce0.jpg?v=0"

I got the direct link by loading the page link you posted, right-clicking on the picture and choosing "View Picture". Then you have a direct link to the pic, and it'll work as you tried.

OK, geek-talk over....back to topic. Yes, post pics of your Sirius install! I'm very curious.
