Default strange noise from sc430

Today I took my '03 sc430 in for 35000 mile service. For the past couple of weeks I have noticed a slight humming noise that occurs immediately after the ignition is turned off. This sound is only heard occasionally. It has also become increasingly louder. The service advisor was unable to help w/ problem because he could not recreate scenario to hear this noise. Anybody got any ideas as to what is causing this noise?...

A completely wild guess, could it be an electric fan kicking on?

Tail pipe or exhaust might be a little loose?

I have heard it too! Not very often, only 3-4 times in a year. Sounds like it's coming from inside the dash or engine compartment. Sounds like something is shutting down (vacuum or steering column)?

I wish I knew, it's weird.

Steering column motors would be my guess.

Thanks for all of the input-- I'll have the steering column checked, since that does seem to be from where the noise is originating.
