Default TPMS question

Hi all,

Sorry to raise such an easy question. I tried searching for my answer but couldn't find one in time.

Could anyone tell me what TPMS are connected to the stock wheels? In other words, are they part of the stock rims? Or are they something that gets connected to the stock rims from the car?

Also, do I need to buy new TPMS if I decide to go with aftermarket wheels? If not, will all aftermarket wheels accommodate TPMS?

Will 18 x 8 with 38mm offset rims work with my SC430?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Jon

The sensors go where the valve stems would on the wheel (a separate part). You can reuse your old sensors but make sure who ever installs the old ones know what they are doing b/c they are easy to break (I learned my lesson the hard way). If you do intend on buy a new set, they go from around $380 for 4 (plus required hardware). The batteries on each one supposedly last for 10 years...so you can figure out if you really need new ones.

Thank you very much!

Please correct me if I am wrong. From what I am reading, I would be able to use my old sensors on the new aftermarket wheels?

The aftermarket wheels I am thinking about are actually 18' old school rims.

Thanks again!

Jon
