Default SC430 in serious Consideration

hey guys,
after a long time of reasearch and thinking, i have decided to invest in purchasing a used SC430 however, i am also considering modifying the car. One of the modifications i intend on carrying out is the high stall speed torque converter most likely the lextreme. Question is, could i fit a torque converter on the 6spd model or is that only on the 5spd. Another question regarding the 6spd, since it carries lexus' VDIM system, is it possible to fully deactivate the nannies or like all new lexus, it could only be done to a certain stage.
I really like the facelifted SC but to be honest, im more into the performance and modification than i am in anything else and these things really matter to me. so this is a callout to all you SC owners out there who could answer my questions regarding the different MY's and especially those who are into mod's and drivin'em hard. quick reviews are also more than welcome

cheers

Not sure if anyone has installed the TC on at 06+ SC. I would recommend the Dragon converter however as it will provide a noticeable increase over a modified stock converter.

The l-extreme TC is a nice mod but it wont make your jaw drop but then its quite low priced. How much more performance you after?

ive actually considered the L-extreme because i read reviews about it and ppl are generally impressed with the product n someone posted that he has a dragon TC installed on his car n says that he recomends the L-extreme over it.
As for mods i am intending on carrying out.. obviously wheels.. considering 20" I-Forged 245s on the front and 295's on the back (or something to fit the wheel well in the back), a stiffer lowered suspension (havent looked at the suspensions offered in detail yet).

As for the performance mods.. at first i will just be doing simple bolt ons mostly breather mods.. TC, supra rear end (LSD), SS headers, cat back exhaust and an intake.. i will also be custom building cat pipes to go with that.

Hopefully later on i am considering force induction but that will come with a whole new suspension and brakes etc!!

as you must've figured.. im intending on buying an SC and keeping it for quite a while which is why i dont mind paying more for an 06+ facelifted model as long as the nannies could be fully disabled and the TC could be fitted to the 6spd.

Im hoping to be making my purchase in the month or two coming n by the looks of things, i think im gonna be sticking with an 04-05

do you have a dragon TC installed on ur vehicle? and if yes, do you also have the optional transmission cooler to go with that? if im not mistaken, the good think about the dragon is that it doesnt give you the Check engine light on the dash when installed in comparison with the Lextreme which apparently does

There are many posts on the questions you asked. If I did it all over again I would go with the Dragon without hesitation. The difference is that profound, someone claiming otherwise has not had both.

You ARE mistaken! The Lextreme does not activate the "Check Engine" light, the Dragon often does...

Correct. Also, a trans cooler is always recommended and more so with a performance TC.

Go with the Dragon unit, its a much better product. I have had personal experience with the Lextreme unit and would not buy another one.

The reason why the lextreme unit might not throw the CEL light is because the stall speed is lower than the dragon unit, why are you going to do this mod if you dont want to use every bit of potential you could get from it?
