Don't think I want to test out those 130+ limits. This thing isn't a Corvette. It doesn't handle good enough to be cruising at those speeds.

So until I can find a flat lake bed somewhere in the middle of nowhere, I'll not test the limits of my car just yet...

On a completely separate note, 130mph isn't too hard to reach and doesn't seem all that fast either
130mph sure seems fast in a 30 year old 240Z

152 MPH, actual speed as indicated by the speedometer when electronic speed-limiter kicked in. At the California Speedway.

Last summer I touched 255 kmh (158 mph) on Autobahn in the southern part of Germany. The car was still increasing in speed, the pedal was way down but not floared by any means. I chickened out since the top was down
And the car was steady as a rock!

The limiter did not kick in (supposed to be set for 250 kmh here in Europe).

We often cruised in the range 180 (111) to 220 (136) with easy bursts up to 240 (148).

The car was a joy in the fast lane on Autobahn

My dream to run one of our cars on the Autobahn LOL. It must have been real fun.

Just bought 2004 SC430-Friggin awesome car. Salesperson told me to "blow it out". No problem on my part. 110 on highway with top down and the car wasn't even breathing hard. Not surprised, 3rd Lexus. Unbelievable cars.

Thanks. Never participated on a site such as this but did so in connection with my recent purchase. Interested in hearing the praises and woes of owners of the sc430. Although I must say, since driving the car off the lot, I haven't driven a mile with the top up!!!

You'll love this site. It's got 7 years of posts about SC 430's.....pretty much any topic you want. Just type the topic in "search" and up it will come. Lots of helpful people here, too.

RS1988,
I just bought my SC as well, and I am finding that other than the most minor things (like the shocks that hold up the trunk that you can find on ebay for $50 and replace yourself), there's not much broken on the SC.

TPMS sensors in the wheels begin to go dead about now on the first couple model years, but you can disable the TPMS system rather than replace.

It's an amazing car that is very well built. I have been impressed with it in the week that we have had it. Granted, it's our 3rd car and my wife is the primary driver, but the few times I have been able to drive it have been nice.

Things tend to slow down at that speed. Also as if Hiro is there freezing time, see, at that speed, it does not matter what you hit, so just onboard for the ride at that point.

1TYTESC, nice. Keep safe.
