Default Timing belt change

Hi everyone,
Just wondering,
does a SC430 2003 with 14k miles need a timing belt replacement .
I know it recommends it being done at 72mo or 90k in the owners man.
any advice would be appreciated.

I woudl go with the mileage spec not the time . Unless you idle your car the amount of time it would take to get to that mileage. I have a 2005 with 5900 miles and I wont do anything untill the mileage reaches the reccomended amount

mu humble opinion

Rubber does deteriorate over time and a 2002 is now 7 years old so an inspection would not be out of order regardless of mileage. The alternative is not pretty but at least these belts are very stout and have seen many go 150k on the original belt. I have also seen 100k examples with busted teeth so driving style and environment can play a role.

Is their a way to inspect a timing belt?
In this cars case the car is driven by a little old lady and probably has never gone over the speed limit.
Garage kept car.
Do people really replace timing belts and water pumps after only 14k miles of driving?

If the car was 10 years of age I would. Did CarFax verify the mileage? But yes, the belt can be checked but it requires a few things to come off to gain access to one of the came covers.

Thank you all for your help.
The reason I am still unclear is the Dealership is trying to recommend a 2700$service.
The 2008 SC requires timing belt replacement at 106 mo or 90k.
The 03 72 mo or 90k.
Is the timing belt different on the 08 vs 03?
