Thanks Habious! Appreciate it. My wife is going back and forth between using a Stilleto 2 and mounting it in the center console or allowing me chop the ashtray. I think your picture of how good the Starmate can look installed in the ashtray has won her over though.

Habious, I have the Dremel and Sirius Starmate Replay. Would you mind taking a photo shot of what it looks like behind the Starmate so that I can get a better idea of what I'm trying to replicate? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

That's for damn sure!!

The signal drops out now and then, but maybe there'd be the same dropouts with a different placement. Will lose signal under bridges and heavy tree canopy but that's about it. Never in the city. I think there is a buffer so that losing signal briefly does not interrupt the audio.

It is such a clean placement that I'd put it there again in a heartbeat.

Habious, If you need the ashtray piece intact to get your system back to the way it was and I need the ashtray piece cut so that I can put in the Starmate Replay, is it possible to do a trade. Or is it not that simple? I'm in Maryland, so I'm not that far away.
