I agree,

I believe the SC430 needs to have something subtle and elegant to complement its curvy looks.

I have Work Ryvers on my SC430. They're somewhat similar to the G Sypder wheels. IMHO you can't go wrong with the G Spyders.

I think Lexus got it right with the wheels I'm showing at top, but if you have other ideas, please include me in. What other wheels?

BTW: just saw a post with G-Spiker wheels. a nice cross between performance and style.

Thanks. jimmer

I checked with my installer/tire guy and he supports fix-a-flat.
check out their site (http://www.fixaflat.com).
they specifically address the sensor thing and talk about why it won't screw it up.
I use the 'spare tire' area for my weekend club bag, so a spare won't work.

outstanding Work Ryvers on a hellova nice 430!

my 10 spoke wheels and pilot sport a/s tires are in.
they'll be on by the afternoon (unless the wheel order was messed-up).
I'll post some pics...

Great!

Please post some pictures when you're done.

Don't worry. I don't think non-runflat tires will be of any harm to your sensors. I currently have non-runflat tires on my SC430 and am very happy with them.

There's a thread on installing the Mazda RX-8 spare tire on the SC430 a while ago. I believe this will solve your golf bag problems.

bummer.
the wheels came in (real beauties), but one is dinged on the edge.
of course dealfit.com wasn't in when I called for a replacement.
need to really ramp down, be patient and get over it until the replacement arrives.
ugh.

Just read this at their website:

"6. Why can't Fix-A-Flat® be used in bicycles, high performance, motorcycle or Z-rated tires?
Fix-A-Flat® is not intended for these type of tires."

Didn't really answer they question.

this is also on the site:

Tire Inflator/Sealant

Fix-A-Flat® is a simple solution to a flat tire. It seals and inflates in minutes! Just connect the hose, inflate, and you will be back on the road in minutes. Shouldn't everyone carry a can of Fix-A-Flat® in their vehicles, just in case?

- Safe for tire sensors
- Requires no tools or jacks
- Non-flammable formula
- Safe to store in your vehicle's trunk or tire well
- Rubber compound provides an emergency seal on contact
- America's #1 tire inflator and sealer

they seem to be up on the sensor issue.
my tire guy says it's OK to use. just have the flat fixed asap after using the stuff.

i've seen where it's messed up people's sensors in the past. but i think peter was referring to it not being approved for z-rated tires. which is what you would be putting on your car. personally, i keep a mini spare in the garage for long road trips. if i go anywhere, i throw it in the trunk. around town, i take my chances. i have roadside assistance if i need it. but i'm usually within 10 miles from home. so i could just call and have someone bring it.

I'm with Jason. I have the spare for road trips, but leave it in the garage otherwise, so the space is available. Flats are rare, and I could manage around town, but on the road I want to get going again. These wheels and tires require special attention which is not always readily available outside of urban areas.

I just bought a ContiComfort Kit.
It can be used as either a tire inflator only or as a fill, seal and inflate device.
With a cell phone/AAA for on-the-road outside chance of a real whooper of a blowout,
I should be good to go.

Ok, guys, I'm all set and very happy to share my new wheels and tires.
They sent me a replacement wheel before the dinged one was back to them.
Now, that's service. I'm really happy with the Dealerfit.com service.
And the new Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires run great.
The ride is now sports tight, not sports broken with the ol' run flats.
Life is good and getting better with each ride.
This is the car it was meant to be.

So, does anyone know where I can get a cheap donut tire for long hauls?

And thanks for all the comments.

I've done a google for the TT Supra donut, but didn't find anything.
Spent at least an hour. No go.

As for lower it. I gotta tell you, the ride is so good now,
I'm not going to mess with it no more!

...very happy with the car now. Lexus could learn a thing or two from this blog!

Jimmer,

You can save time by searching within this forum.

One of the best strings (started by Farkus) is here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...ubstitute.html

Just do a search with the forum for spare tire.

There are lots of people here who have already done the research.

YMMV

thanks, but I don't want to convert the trunk.

I want a spare (either donut or regular) to throw in the trunk just for long drives.

I found this on ebay. Not sure if it's a fit to the 430.
What do you guys think.
