Default Who has driven their SC in the snow?

I was wondering how do the SCs do in the snow and what do you run for tires?

Thanks in advance, Cliff

My runflats were extremely dangerous. I have Michelin Pilots on and they have worked well the last few winters in snow.

I've used stock-size Blizzak's for the past 5 yrs. and they work really well. The all-season runflats that came new with the car were unusable in the snow.

More specifically I have a set of rims:
Size: 17"
Bolt pattern: 5X114.3
Offset: 45mm
Rav4 Center Bore, I think its 60.1, that is I think...wheels are equiped from a 05+ Rav4

Should fit the SC430? *sorry to hijack thread, figured it's winter related*

So I should definitely take off the "all season" runflats that are on my car now for winter driving?

I think it depends on how much snow/ice you get in your area.
When there's ice/snow on the road surface, the all-seasons don't do well at all.
If it gets real nasty and there's ice built-up on the road, you can't use them at all.
Using full-on snow tires is the polar-opposite; the SC is actually pretty good in the white stuff with the right tires (assuming you're not dropped much below stock-height).

Default Purchasing snow tires...

I'm looking for snow tires as well.* First year driving with this car in the winter as I stored it last year. Was hesitant but looks like from the posts that they do fine with the appropriate tires.* I had a Mercedes 4matic last year to get up my driveway as it is at an incline so am hoping the sc will make it!

I'm a little concerned with ice/snow from the plows that are on street corners and driveways since the car rides a little low.* Has anyone had problems with this?*

Thanks in advance!

I am gonna be getting the Bridgestone Potenza RE 960 AS Pole Position tires to put on my car for the winter. They are the highest rated all season high performance tire on Tire Rack.com .

DON'T DRIVE with runflats. Its very dangerous, even in light 1-2 inches snow. I agree with CBG the Bridgestone Potenza RE 960 AS Pole Position rock. I installed them last November. They are great in snow. I would know i live in Salt Lake City...

Driving on stock runflats is very dangerous. I got caught in snow/sleet last year and had to park the car because the car would just go sideways. Lol, I had better luck with the 20in wheel/tire combo. Winter tires is a must with these cars if you intend on driving it in the snow.
