Help Fast!! 2002 SC face-off- help me decide
Looking at 2 SC430's trying to decide if I should pull the trigger or not!
Car 1: 2002 SC430 Silver/Saddle Interior 108k - Timimg Belt Has Not Been Done!! - maintained at Lexus Dealership. Interior excellent - exterior: needs both bumpers painted (minor knicks/scuffs e.t.c.) 4-5 dings need to be removed - Headlights yellowing *bad*
Price: 15,500
Car 2: 2002 SC430 Silver/Ecru 104k - Timing Belt Has Not Been Done - Maintained at Lexus Dealership. Interior - a "Very Big" (for TFischer) stain on passenger side carpet - (coffee) - Exterior has 3 dings that need to be removed - Driver Headlight bracket broken (sitting a bit low) Fender is OEM - has been touched up.
Price: 14,500
3: Wait
What do you all think - I like car #1 a bit better (color wise/interior condition/Seller) but it needs some work to get it up to my standards-
I'm also worried that these vehicles will take a hell of a hit soon (and with me driving 15-20k a year It won't help-
KBB private party is between 13,000 and 15,500 depending on condition....
Edmunds Private Party says 16000 to 21,000 depending on condition.
Do you all think the prices are at rock bottom **are these good** or will they continue to dwindle over the winter and recover in the spring??
Honest Opinions Welcomed!!!
-Thanks in advance

I think for the money they are asking you should be getting a car with less miles and/or in better condition. I think unless you know the people selling the cars you will be buying someone elses problems. Are the cars from a dealer or private party?

If you don't have to buy now, you'll find even better deals than these in 4-6 weeks time; winter is the slowest time for the car biz historically, and with the economic climate being what it is, they'll be begging to give cars away. You'll no doubt find lower mileage SC's for the same money as these, or these with lower prices than today.

Spend $5-10K more on a newer. lower mileage SC and leave the headaches to someone else. The timing belt is going to set you back $1K or so and I bet they'll find lots of dingers to get the service cost up to $2-3K before thy are done. You'll be halfway there.....
