Default Key Fob doesn't work on trunk

Can't figure this one out.

Key fob works the doors, so the fob is working.
Interior switch works on the trunk, so the trunk is working.

But key fob (neither of them) won't open the trunk.

Any help?

Try holding down the trunk button for three seconds.

The first time I tried mine I pressed the trunk button for the same amount of time as for the doors. That won't work. Just hold the button down until the trunk pops slightly open. And don't expect it to fly all the way open.

Thanks Dave, that did it. I never thought it would take that long to work.

Much appreciated.

If you don't like the way this functions, it can be changed by the dealer. They're called CBEST settings.

Check out the "Trunk Lid Oper" in this document and you'll see that there are actually 3 options (0.8 seconds, 1-press to open, or 2-presses to open) (actually, I see that "off" is a 4th option but, I have no idea why you'd ever want to do that).

Coooool!

Thanks

But why would anyone want to wait three seconds to open the trunk? I pressed the damn button, doesn't that mean I want it NOW?

Sounds like Japanese Zen Budda or something.

Safety feature, so you don't "accidentally" trip it in your pocket, etc. The delay is too long for my taste, but it's minor, and becomes second-nature after a while...

Safety? PITA more like it. But if that's the worst thing I find about it, then we're going to be very happy together.
