HOOOPDREAM

This has happened twice now, accidently unlocked car from the inside with the handle on the drivers side while the car was still running. It set off the alarm and screwed up the locking mechanism. If you try to close the door the latch doesn't roll over and lock, it in turn causes door to bounce off the post on the frame that the lock is supposed to engage with. Had a dealer reset once, but he didn't show me how and to reset it. Had to drive 30 miles home holding the drivers side door as it's a Sunday and dealer service is closed. A diagram and/or explanation on how to reset the mechanical portion that is exposed on the door while open would be greatly appreciated.

This happened with the engine running?? Don't you mean with the engine off and the key out of the ignition?
