Cool 06+ tail lights question

I want to upgrade my 02 sc430 tailights. I've been reading a few forums about this upgrade and I've been seeing something about a ECU? I was wondering what this is all about. I thought it would be just a simple plug and play.

Anyone want to fill me in?

Thanks,
Mike

You dont need the ECU but without it you get a little light out indicator on the dash as it thinks your bulb is dead.

Its about $200 and you can get it from Sewells

A set comes up used in the classy-fieds every few weeks... they usually go for $5-600 for everything, including the ECU. You can install yourself, if you're a little handy. Do a search and you'll find DIY instructions.

Yes that's the whole kit including ecu. I'm sure is was cheaper when I bought mine. You can just buy the lights at your local dealer and then pull the warning bulb out of the dash.
