Default Information on problems with tire mounting

This is just to provide some information on a weird problem I just experienced.

I just had new tires put on and after they were finished, the TPS light was on and stayed on. The tire dealer put their generic scope on the car and all four sensors showed that they were working, but for some reason, would not talk to the car.

Finally they authorized me to take it to Lexus to have them diagnose the problem. Lexus put their scope on it and found that the problem was one of two situations. The first being that since my car is four years old, one of the sensors may be having intermittent connection problems. Since I've had no indication of this prior to the tire install, we disregarded this possibility.

The second was that during mounting, the wheels were taken out of range of the transmitters and when they were re-mounted, it no longer recognized them as being in its system.

Lexus did a simple code reset and everything was fine, but I thought everyone might like to know about this should they encounter similar problems in the future.
