I saw this problem posted before but no one at the time knew how to fix it. Anyone have any ideas? I took it to the guy who works on mine and he didn't know how to fix it. I don't want to have to take it the the dealer.

The area between the bottom of the trunk lid and the body. Where the trunk lid opens. Where it has the lock. It is either the attachment of the lid is sliding down or the attachment of the body latch is sliding up. I don/t know how to reach either for sure.

To adjust:
(1) Loosen the two bolts of the luggage compartment door striker. That's the part on the body, not the lid. Bolts come in from the bottom vertically.
(2) Using shims, adjust the door vertically to 8mm thickness.
(3) Tighten the door striker bolts after adjustment (7 ft.lbs)
However, make sure that you don't need both vertical AND horizontal adjustments. If you need both, the procedure is much more complicated.
