Upgrade to Infiniti G Convertible

This is how I see the level of both cars:
G37 convertible is in the same class as:
SLK350, 335i, A4, IS350C. All got V6 power, smaller with lower grade material. Entry level luxury car.
SC430 is in the same class as:
SL500, 645i, S5. All V8 power, full size with high grade material. Top of the line luxury car.
The reason the G37 coupe deceive people as more then it is, is due to the bigger then average size, and it's engine is also bigger then average with extra power. Which I think Nissan did a very good job on it. It fooled me for a while too. But after you look into it, drive it and get a good feel of the car over all, it is lower end entry level luxury, and the price reflect that, Infiniti don't have any intention to price it high to pretent it is a highend car. The G37 does have very good value though.
If I can't afford a SC430, I would be driving a G37 convertible

Not sure I'd put the SC430 and S5 in the same class as SL and 645...with the latter costing abot 20K more. I do agree the SC430 has top notch fit and finish but it doesn't seem tpo targeted to enthusiasts or men at all. The lack of space in the front keeps full size guys away from it. Lexus has to know that and they haven't changed the space very much. SO they want ladies and old guys to drive it. That keeps it out of any top tier imo.
I beg your pardon?

Like a 16 years old high school kids who crave speed would rather drive a $30k Lancer EVO then a $300k Bentley big cruiser. For the kid, the EVO is the better car that fit his preference.

I'm 6'6" and 300 LBS and I fit just fine. Sure the seat is reclined back a little but I am more comfortable in my SC430 than I was in my Escalade.
I couldn't fit in a MB SL550 as my head was up against the roof. In the SC430 I have about 1" to spare. Of course I can only drive my Jag with the top down!
The SC430 and Porsche 911 and or 944 are the only cars that seem to fit big guys.
