Exclamation time to change?

i took over this 02 sc430 from the first owner. she drove it from day one and now it has 117K miles on it.

is it time for new shocks or struts????

if not, thank you for saving me some bucks here; but when is it a right time to replace?

if YES, then how much does it cost for the factory ones? where i can get them for cheaper price? and are there any aftermarket ones that offer even better, more luxurious ride than lexus's oem?

thank you

depends how it was driven and how rough the roads were. chances are, they're fine. only way to know is to have them inspected. if you do need a new suspension, i'd go with tein CS coilovers. it's a smoother ride over stock and you can set the height however you like. which is the main reason people buy them.

While you're checking those items, be sure to check the struts (lifters) on your hood and trunk. The trunk lifters seem to go out after 4 years and if the previous owner didn't already have them replaced, they probably won't hold the trunk lid up.
