Wow -- I never considered this. I thought everyone used that button as a handy mute button. I got that tip from those who had problems with the first ML systems: some 2001 builds (March & June?) had an issue where the system would magically jump to FULL volume.

Glad I never had that problem, but I use it for when I get phone calls. That's for those of us w/o Bluetooth integration...

To my surprise, the car started to beep and the top went down on the frist attemp of closing. Now, the big question is what made it stop in the first place? However, it is working fine so far.

The system stops top operation when the car exceeds 3 MPH. Let go of the button, stop the car, and try again. As long as you don't exceed that speed, you can creep out of a parking spot and the top will still go up/down.

The one thing that stands out-how surprisingly well and neutral it handled once coilovers and wheels were installed.

I searched when I needed to do it, and it was both in the owners manual...I think 356-358 on my 2005 owner's manual. I believe others said it was like 363.

Also try this post-very helpful from the experts:

This weekend my friend and I were amazed to find out that the seat belt buckle light up at night. It's the seatbelt part on the right side of each seat where you put the seatbelt in. There's these two little clear pieces that light up so you can guide your seatbelt into it to lock.

Freaking cool!!!

I have an 09 so if this isn't on all year models then I have to go take a picture.

Scdroptop, what are you referring to with these two features (this thread is my favorite and I'm always craving knowledge here)

I still can't figure out how to lower the rear windows when the roof is up? Anyone?

Can't do it without luxlink (no longer available) or wiring separately.

This is a fairly subtle feature but I discovered that if you hold the ML CD changer's repeat (RPT) button down a few seconds until you hear a beep it will repeat the current disc rather than the current selection. You all probably knew that, eh?

I really hope at least one of these is not already listed.

1. If you hold down the AM and disc buttons, the rear antenna is ejected.
2. If you hold down the FM and disc button, the secondary antenna in the windshield cuts power and the rear antenna stops auto adjust.
3. If you turn the dash dimmer all the way on the GPS no longer goes into night mode.
4. The GPS uses the same DIAS controller designed for the bradly fighting vehicle. It auto calibrates position based on speed and wheel turn sensors without a GPS signal. The contractor lost security clearance for selling this to Toyota. The DOD at the time wanted to be able to disable GPS, and prohibited auto correction in non-military systems.
5. The SC430 price was raised $6000 in the US and $8000 in Europe to avoid perception as a cut rate car.
6. If you hold down the traffic button it will tune any emergency station.
7. If you really truly love your car, it will in fact love you back.

I tried #7, but I burned myself painfully on the exhaust tip.
