Also, I'm very curious to hear more about your impressions of the coilovers, particularly in relation to ride comfort. When I was deciding to lower mine, I went with RCA blocks because I didn't want to make the ride harder (also, there is a big price difference, lol). Someday the stock suspension will wear out and I'll have to make a choice, so I'm quite interested in those Meisters.
Yes, I'd like to know too.

I just picked up the chrome inserts because I really didn't like the "pewter" ones it came with. Haven't had a chance to put them on.

My mom bought this 2002 SC430 new when she was 80 years old. It never spent a night outside and was always dealer serviced since new. When she passed away last year I inherited it with 36k miles on it. I picked it up in California and drove up the Pacific Coast Highway and then back across America to Florida. This is a pic from Yosemite. This was the perfect car to cross country in. I recently updated the "pie plate" wheel centers to later model "star" center caps.

Welcome to the forum Bob. The SC430 looks really good. Great background for the picture also. Sounds like you had a great inaugural trip in it! How many miles was it?

  • Thanks Harold.

WE zig zagged back and forth but ended up putting about 6000 miles on it that trip. That was in August and the car now has 49k on it. I have been restoring vehicles for over 50 years. I have owned/restored 438 over the years. I have owned most everything you can think of including 25 Porsches and lots of German, American, and Japanese luxury cars and this is the nicest all around vehicle that I have ever owned. Plus it was my mom's. She always wanted the car to go cross country so we felt like she was riding with us in the back seat, at least in spirit (which is the only way she would ever fit back there). We are now both retired and have trimmed down the stable and spend half the year a mile from the Blue Ridge parkway in NC and half in Florida. The Lexus is our new mountain car. Thanks for this great and informative forum. I look forward to sharing.

That's an interesting pattern on your roof and trunk evgeniy. Since it is a definite pattern (versus random), the bare spots (in the snow) are related to something in the structure. I wonder if that is where spot welds are located?

Looks great. That exhaust system is very cool.
For fun, I cropped a couple of your pics,,,shows off that car more, lol
I'm also seeing maybe black emblems on the grill and rear....to match those wheels

That looks great! Thank you!

Black emblems probably would look cool, I went to great trouble to get the "gold package" not realizing I would eventually have black wheels, lol.
