Went for a long drive and ended up doing a mini photoshoot. Here's my loaner....

Yup, it's on loan to me for the time being. He's actually in Asia right now pursuing some new projects. I'm a 2GS guy, so the modding has been an easy transition. Maybe if I repaint it, he won't recognize it when he returns

You missed your chance by about a month, we were just over in Asia visiting. But I'll mention it next time I'm over on that side of the globe. Heading south this year, I don't suppose any Incas have parts for you

Weather was nice, had to get out and play.
Took a drive with my sweetie on a beautiful day.
Fall colors were pretty, bright was the sun.

Thanks OBP! The photos were taken in the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois a few miles south of Carbondale near Makanda, IL. On the map below, the red diamond indicates where the photos were taken and the blue dot just to the north is where I live. Carbondale, IL is the home of Southern Illinois University.

..I was visiting some in-laws (for the first time) up in the Champagne & Bloomington area. Didn't see those towns on your map, but was wondering how far away was I ???

You were 200 miles north of where I am here in Carbondale. It's a 3 hour drive to Champaign and a 4 hour drive to Bloomington. The terrain in Southern Illinois is much more attractive than that of Central Illinois. I lived near Champaign for 7 years when I worked at the University of Illinois back in the 1990's. It's billiard table flat and plenty windy up there.

Where in Texas are you? My brother lives north of Fort Worth near the Texas Motor Speedway.
