Default Painting the Nics

Just aquired 02 indigo ink, nice car but has a few problems with the paint.Front bumper has the usual road rash and I lightly scrapped a curb on the lower front side and it wont rub out.The hood has a minor defect along with the normal nics and rock chips. Anyone out there have their front end painted? I know there are many levels of paint jobs, What would you consider to be a fair price, if you knew the painter did work for the dealer, and got the thumbs up from personel in service dept.

I just paid $1,300 for the body shop to go around and touch up the corners. One hour of body work and the rest was sanding, spraying and buffing. Also $100 to buff the headlight covers back to new. I wanted them to touch up the nose and hood so I could put that clear covering on but they wanted $2,300 just to clean up the nicks in the nose so I passed on that part.

Default Me Too!

My 02 is pristine except for 3 paint chips. Each one is very small-like 1/8 inch, but it seems if you use touch up paint, it is worse than the chip. No one else sees them, but they bug me every time I wash the car. Any ideas?

i've heard of people filling them with touch up paint, then buffing away the excess. but i'm not brave enough to try.

Just take it to a body shop. Paint is tricky, touch up paint is always a slightly different color, then you have to put clear coat on it to get that shine. I paid $500 to have the rear bumper repainted.
