Default engine question

just bought a 2002 SC430 and am really loving it! Can anyone tell me if these engines are interference, just wanting to know if timing belt breaks if the engine is gone, or just a tow to get replaced. Thanks a lot, I am sure I will have a lot of questions in the future

Yes. If the timing belt breaks chances are you will do major damage. They are interference engines. If you have this SC and its around the 85k+ range and it hasn't been done yet, I would do it soon. I bought my GS with the same engine at 91K and the first thing I did was the TB service..
