I believe 4500k or 4000k. I got the equation from this lighting specialist on my red 02 and my low beams did match my high beams, remember the DRL runs at 50% strength, so in essence, 8000k+ at 50% will look similar to the low beams. Once again, they are only on at the same time when your high beams are on!

The two you really want to match are your fogs and low beams.

this time around, I think I am going to do the same color temperature for all three sets, including my little 168 bulb (your 2006+ cars don't have) and be done with it!

No offense, but I think Mr scdroptop is confused about the replacement bulb types you should use in sc430 headlight.
You can NOT put D2* bulbs in 9005 sockets plus the fact that true HID bulbs also need ballasts to fire up.
The DRL bulbs he used were LEDs not HIDs.

Stock HID is 4300k. Your 06 uses D4S HID bulbs for lowbeam.
If you like the super white look, stay with 6000k. Anything higher than 6000k up to 12000K will start to look blue to purple.

I have the 9005 LED DRL kit from vled. I believe vled kit is what most people use here on CL.
The color look a bit blueish in pics, but it looks super white in person. My lowbeam is 6000k PIAA D4S.

You can probably use 9005 HID conversion kit, but you need figure out how to get full power in order not to destroy ballasts and HID bulbs as drl only runs at half power.
Finding where to put the Ballasts could be a problem since room is very tight there.

As for foglight, I have 6000K Philips H3 HID kit but any H3 HID conversion kit will suit your need.
If possible, you should get a HID conversion kit that comes with slim digital ballasts.
My installer had a hard time finding a good spot to secure my Philips ballast on the driver side while installing HID fog.

Will these H3 HID conversion kits work on '02 model year as well?

Yes, all 02-10 SC430s use h3 bulbs for foglight.
I have been running H3 HID conversion kit for years without any issue.
The output is really amazing.

hahaha In short, I believe he said a dealer disabled it for him lol you could always just take out the bulbs. I did that with my side markers.

I love my DRLs since I've changed the bulbs to LEDs, it looks so good: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...l-think-2.html

ah! thanks redliner! I went outside and checked the system today. The DRL is the highbeams @ 10%. The small 168 bulb is on when the normal low beams are on. hmmmm...
