I agree the whole TPMS in 02-06 SC is a pain and expensive ($460). But there is long term value in replacing all of the color coded sensors and having the dealer pair them to your car. Firstly, you probably wont have to do it for another 15 years! That is how long my first set lasted with no battery failure (amazing). Secondly, with a properly paired TPMS you can forgo the spare tire in the trunk opening up an additional storage area in a trunk that is already sparse for room especially with the top down. I put an air compressor and a battery jump pack in that location. Thirdly and lastly you enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing the car will make you aware of an impending flat BEFORE it happens thus giving you options on how to approach the situation.

My 2002 sensors had lasted 18 years before I finally received the TPMS light.
I did the disconnect and replaced with tire sensors from Amazon.
