I am a new owner, of course I love the car. I found this site and glad to see that I'm not crazy about hearing the passenger door rattle, will take that in to dealer to get them working on it.
I purchased the indigo w/ saddle interior. I am very concerned about paint chips in the front, in only a week I've already noticed a few slight marks.
I read some articles here on the 3m clear protection, it seems that the look is largely dependant on the installers abilities. I really don't know much about it and am looking to learn quickly. If anyone can make a recommendation for a top quality installer in the Dallas area, I would greatly appreciate it.

TXSC430,
First of all let me be the first to welcome you to Club Lexus.. Your Indigo colour choice was my second choice but the wait at the time I ordered for your colour was WAY too long so congrats on a VERY rare car.. As for front end 3M treatment.. Try this website to find an installer in your area:
www.xpel.com
I've had this done to my car and I cannot say enough good things about the product but like you have read you do need a professional installer to get the desired results..
If I may suggest pay the extra money and also get the mirrors and headlights/foglights covered with the 3M film.. You will thank me later for this suggestion!
If you have any additional questions just reply back and a few of us have had Xpel or Stoneguard applied to our cars and we would be happy to share!

I was told by the Lexus Parts Department that the new SC's headlamp assembly are made from HIPS (High Impact Polystrene) which means that the clear lens will not crack or shatter from high impact nor will it scratch. I agree with this because I used to deal with plastics raw materials myself.
I would definately spend the extra bucks to get the xpel professionally installed! I was quoted 840 installed with bumper, hood, side mirrors, and headlamps.
