I've had the Lexus for about a month, and even before I bought it I noticed a little odor. Wasn't terrible, but definitely not a good smell, I'd describe it as musty.

Well went by O'reily Auto Parts and picked up a new cabin air filter. Replacing that totally took care of the smell.

Just thought I would pass it along..

that's one filter I change every year withour fail, it's cheap and easy to do yourself. Glad the Lexus engineers made it so easy to do (it normally takes me three minutes, what a deal), unlike the air filter.

I just changed my cabin air filter last week. Picked up my '04 with 28k miles a month ago, and I don't think the filter has ever been changed. It was filled with twigs and seeds and stuff. I think the previous owner parked outdoors under a tree most of the time, because I can't think of any other way all that "nature" can get into the cabin filter.

Easy mod. Everyone should do it often, like every 15k miles at minimum.

How much did you guys pay for the filter?
